Compressed sofa recovery guide
Why there is no universal expansion time, and what to confirm for a sample.
Start with the product instructions
There is no single recovery time that applies to every compression-packed sofa. Foam formulation, construction, compression history, storage and room conditions can affect the result. Follow the guide supplied for the confirmed model.
A time-lapse video can be useful for explaining a process, but its editing, product version and conditions need context. It should not become a performance guarantee for an unrelated model.
Make a sample evaluation repeatable
Record the model, configuration and packaging version. Note the compression duration if available, the storage conditions and the room conditions when the package is opened. Photograph the same views at agreed checkpoints.
Compare the recovered product with the agreed dimensions and appearance. Record which measurement axes are being used, the tolerance and any setup or material adjustment permitted in the instructions.
Avoid improvising treatment
Do not apply heat, chemicals, steam or other treatments unless the product instructions explicitly permit them. A technique used on one foam or upholstery can be unsuitable for another.
If the result is not as expected
Keep the carton label and order information. Take clear photographs, describe the opening process and contact the supplier with the elapsed time and conditions. Ask for model-specific guidance before attempting a remedy.
For a business order, agree the sample acceptance criteria before approving production. Include recovery, appearance, dimensions and the intended use in the review.
Read the sample checklist or contact product support.
