Sofa dimensions & delivery access
A practical checklist for seat dimensions, layout and getting the package into place.
Ask for the right measurements
Overall width, depth and height describe the footprint. Seat height, seat depth and usable seat width help explain how a product may feel. A low silhouette in a photograph is not enough to establish these dimensions.
Confirm which units and measurement axes the drawing uses. If a catalogue lists numbers without units, ask for clarification rather than converting them by assumption.
Mark out the footprint
Use a simple floor outline to explore the proposed layout. Allow space for movement, nearby furniture and any extended or chaise configuration. Measure both the closed and extended states of a convertible product if those are relevant to the intended use.
For sectional layouts, record the intended left or right orientation from a clearly stated viewpoint. Ask which pieces are included and whether the product can actually be rearranged.
Check the delivery route
Use the actual carton dimensions, weight and box count when checking doors, stairs, elevators and storage. A compact package can still be heavy or awkward to handle. Do not infer handling requirements from the sofa’s appearance alone.
Keep one approved version
Attach the agreed drawing to the sample approval and quotation. If the material, structure or layout changes, check whether the dimensions and packaging also change. A stable catalogue reference is helpful, but it should be paired with the correct specification version.
Explore the collection and note the references you would like to discuss.
